Peter & Mara Soutiere - Proprietors

What can you say about this dynamic duo? I once heard Pete describe his wife as the motorboat and himself as the skier, I think this is fitting. With Peter’s knowledge of fine wine and Norwegian black metal, how could he not seem like a catch to the lovely and extremely business savvy Mara? Well, you know what they say about opposites, not only did these two attract, but they flourished! Their first venture in Lafayette was such a success that they decided Pearl Street better suited them. After Tahona had proven itself to the West End the couple saw the opportunity for further expansion and purchased Sushi Tora in the fall of ’09. Peter & Mara can be found celebrating their joie de vive with their son Ian, daughter Muriel, and hound Lemmie.

John Ryan - Manager

He can run the dining room with a smile and control the late night craziness with a calm demeanor. He is also a recent father to young John, who will take control of his independence more than he will ever know.

Ally Widlak - Manager

Ally is what would be considered a triple threat in the restaurant biz; she’s beautiful, she’s fast and she pours one mean drink. When she’s not behind the bar she is practicing to beat out the micro machines guy for the world record in speed talking.

Matt Tobin - Executive Chef

Yet another skillful transplant from the midwest that we are lucky to call our own. Mr. Tobin likes bangers & mash, showing off cuts of pig by way of the tattoo on his belly, stinky cheese, and red knit hats, but mostly spending time watching 'footie' and hanging with his wifey.
